Bio

Tim Reiter is the stadium Voice of the Paints, serving as Public Address Announcer for all home games since 2018.

Reiter is a Wheelersburg native, graduated from Wheelersburg High School in 1981 after playing football, basketball baseball and running track. After high school, Tim furthered his education by attending Hocking College in Nelsonville, eventually receiving a degree in Police Science and Criminology.

Enlisting in the Unted States Army in 1983, Tim served as a military police specialist and later in the Military Intelligence field. He has served throughout the world in such places as Grenada, South Korea, Germany, the Middle East & many, many others before leaving the Army in 1986, but was ordered to return to active duty for the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm) from 1990-91.

Hired by the Chillicothe Police Department, Tim came to Chillicothe in 1987. After being severely injured early in his career, he eventually retired in 2007.

Tim is a longtime fan of the Chillicothe Paints, attending the club's first-ever opening night in 1993. Throughout the years, he has helped out the organization from time-to-time with (unofficial) security matters and whatever else was needed.

Eventually, Tim was given the opportunity to do PA work at the ballpark for non-Paints events, announcing youth league, high school and American Legion baseball and high school softball at VA Memorial Stadium. He also worked at the main entrance for several years, welcoming fans to Paints games at the ballpark.

In 2017, Tim was asked to announce the majority of Paints games, filling in for the legendary John Wend. "I'm truly honored to sit in John's chair and announce for the Chillicothe Paints Baseball Club," Tim said about the opportunity. The following season, Tim tookover the job full-time.

A singer since high school, Tim has toured six countries in Europe with a singing group from Ohio, even singing a solo at their concert for Queen Elizabeth II and her cancer charity fundraiser. Tim was also in a band made up of his fellow soldiers while stationed in South Korea, traveling throughout the country during off-duty time, playing for other service members and civilians.

Tim has sung the National Anthem for the Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Crew, Columbus Clippers and many other places throughout Chillicothe, the surrounding area and Ohio. He sings the National Anthem each Thanksgiving morning in Yoctangee Park before the Larry Cox Memorial Turkey Trot, honoring the memory of his former co-worker. More often, though, Tim can be heard singing the National Anthem before a Paints game at VA Memorial Stadium. He also sings "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the seventh-inning strecth while walking though the stadium and interacting with fans.

Tim has three daughters, Janis, Carolyn and Christina. He also has three grandchildren and his special friend, Teresa.

"It's a great day for baseball, but when you have baseball,... it's a great day!"

In honor of his mentor and friend John Wend, Tim proclaims "Paints Win!" immediately at the end of every Chillicothe victory and delivers a simple "Goodnight, John" at the end of every game.
