Pitcher Jake Norris Returning in 2022

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, announce the re-signing of pitcher Jake Norris for the upcoming 2022 season, which begins Wednesday, June 1 at Champion City.

Last season, Norris appeared in 11 games for the Paints, starting 10 and earning a 1-4 record with a 5.09 ERA. The righthander tossed 53 innings for Chillicothe, allowing 55 hits, while walking 28 and striking out 34.

Norris owned a 3.25 ERA over his first six appearances of the summer, holding opponents to a .240 batting average.

The Hilliard, Ohio native finished the season strong, starting the Paints' final home game of the season and allowing just one earned run over 6 1/3 innings, while allowing four hits, striking out three and walking two.

A senior at Muskingum University, Norris already owns a 0.82 ERA this spring over 32 innings spanning five starts. Just three earned runs have been scored on Norris on 24 hits, while he's collected 30 strikeouts against just 11 walks.

As of April 6, the 6-foot-7, 205 pound pitcher owns a career 6-10 record and 3.66 ERA over 27 appearances, 26 of which are starts. He's thrown 159 2/3 innings, allowing 65 earned runs, walking 55 and striking out 108.

Norris is a graduate of Hilliard Bradley High School.
