Paints Sign Outfielder Santrel Farmer

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, announce the signing of outfielder Santrel Farmer for the upcoming season, which begins on the road Wednesday, June 1.

A junior at Cumberland University, Farmer currently ranks third on the team with a .393 batting average, collecting 66 hits, nine doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 39 RBIs this spring. Farmer has also been dangerous once reaching base, ranking second in the nation in stolen bases with 28 on 30 attempts. He also ranks top-10 in the country for runs scored (57), walks (29), batting average (.393), and on-base percentage (.488).

Farmer was named First Team All-Mid South Conference while also earning Gold Glove honors for his stellar play patrolling centefield for the Phoenix. He also earned MSC Player of the Week honors once during the season.

Prior to tranferring to Cumberland this season, the Bardstown, Ky. native played parts of four seasons with the perennially-ranked Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers. 

The Chillicothe Paints open the home portion of their season Thursday, June 2 at VA Memorial Stadium against the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m. Draft beer will be just $2 for Thirsty Thursday, thanks to Budweiser, and a Fireworks Extravaganza will follow, sponsored by 94 Country.
