Sprockett, Orr & Lallathin Named Prospect League All-Stars

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The 2022 Prospect League Champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, had three players from the just-completed season named Prospect League All-Stars Monday when the league's selections were announced. Catcher Mike Sprockett, designated hitter Tim Orr and relief pitcher Nick Lallathin earned the honors.

Sprockett (University of Akron) played in 41 games for the Paints, primarily as a catcher. The Liberty Township, Ohio native hit .285 with a home run (a grand slam) and 36 RBIs. Sprockett also hit 10 doubles and a triple, while maintaining an on-base percentage of .367 and slugging .389. Sprockett was part of a Paints catching trio that led the Prospect League in throwing out runners trying to steal and with the fewest passed balls. He also spent time at first base, third base and as the designated hitter.

Orr (Tiffin University) played in 51 games this summer, hitting .341 with five home runs and 48 RBIs. Orr tied for the team lead in home runs with Santrel Farmer and Anthony Steele, and led the team in games played (51), at bats (173), runs (48), hits (59), RBIs (48), and on-base percentage (.451). His .341 average raned fifth in the Prospect League, while hit runs, hits and RBI totals all ranked top-five. The Canton, Ohio native finished the season with more walks (34) and strikeouts (29). Orr also played first base, third base, outfield, pitched a few innings and spent the Eastern Conference Championship Game and the entire Prospect League Championship Series at shortstop. 

Lallathin (Walsh University) proved to be one of the top options out of the bullpen for the Paints this season, appearing in 15 games and tying for the most wins in the Prospect League with a 6-2 record. The left-handed pitcher threw 47 1/3 innings, the second most on the team and most by a reliever, allowing just 15 earned runs while walking 10 and striking out 44, he allowed opponents to hit just .254 against him while amassing a 2.91 ERA. Lallathin started game three of the Prospect League Championship Series against Alton, throwing 5 2/3 innings and allowing just one earned run on six hits, while walking none and striking out seven.

All-stars and all award winners are voted on by the field managers from the league's 16 teams.
