2023 Roster: Owen Wilson

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The reigning Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints are pleased to announce the re-signing of infielder Owen Wilson for the 2023 season, which begins Wednesday, May 31 on the road against the Lafayette Aviators.

Wilson joined the Paints partway through the season a year ago, eventually playing in 28 games at various infield positions. He hit .283 over 99 at bats, including four doubles, a triple and six RBIs. Wilson also walked 23 times and stole five bases on seven attempts. Despite playing first base, second base, shortstop and second base, Wilson only committed three errors over 28 games while being a part of turning 10 double plays.

A 6-foot-2, 190 pound, junior at Denison University, Wilson owns a career .270 batting average for the No. 15 ranked Big Red, while maintaining a .958 career fielding percentage.

Wilson is currently majoring in data analytics and minoring in mathematics and economics.

The Chillicothe Paints open the home portion of their schedule Thursday, June 1 at VA Memorial Stadium against the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m. Draft beer will be just $2 for Thirsty Thursday and fans will be treated to a postgame Fireworks Extravaganza following the game.
