2023 Roster: Drew Donaldson

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints announce the re-signing of infielder Drew Donaldson for the upcoming 2023 season, which begins Wednesday, May 31, on the road against the Lafayette Aviators.

Donaldson is currently a junior at the University of Indianapolis, where he owns a career .373 batting average with 22 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 76 RBIs over 85 games with the Greyhounds. He has also walked nearly twice as many times as he's struck out in that time.

In 33 games this spring, all starts, Donaldson is hitting .441 (56-127) with 12 doubles, four triples and four home runs. He's also driven in 35 runs and stolen six bases. Defensively, he's made just five errors.

Prior to attending Indianapolis, Donaldson played the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Lake Erie College.

A native of Hilliard, Ohio, Donaldson is a graduate of Hilliard Bradley High School, where he was a three-year varsity starter, garnering First Team All-Conference, All-District Honorable Mention, All-Conference Honorable Mention, and All-Conference Scholar-Athlete honors and was named team MVP his season season. Donaldson left Bradley with school records for career games played (86), plate appearances (298), and runs scored (53), while also ranking in the top five for several other career and single-season records, including hits (81), doubles (12), walks (32), and stolen bases (21).

The Chillicothe Paints open the home portion of their schedule Thursday, June 1, at VA Memorial Stadium against the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m. Draft beer will be just $2 for Thirsty Thursday and fans will be treated to a postgame Fireworks Extravaganza following the game.
