Paints Fall To LumberKings 7-3

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, couldn't get the bats going in a 7-3 loss to the Clinton LumberKings Tuesday night at a soggy VA Memorial Stadium.

The game started about 30 minutes late due to rain in the area, but when it did get going, the LumberKings didn't waste much time getting to work, scoring a run in the first, a run in the third and a run in the fifth. Then the LumberKings tacked on three in the sixth, jumping out to a 6-0 lead.

The Paints finally got on the board with a two-run double by Drew Donaldson in the bottom of the sixth, cutting Clinton's lead to 6-2. Chillicothe re-loaded the bases in the inning, but couldn't get the big hit to bring in any more runs.

Clinton made it 7-2 with a run in the top of the seventh.

Donaldson knocked home another run for the Paints in the bottom of the inning, finishing the scoring at 7-3.

The Paints start a four-game road trip Wednesday, traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., to play the REX at 6:30 p.m. They'll play Thursday and Friday in Marion, Ill., against the Thrillville Thrillbillies before heading back to Terre Haute to wrap up the road trip Saturday.
