VMI Catcher Cole Raile Joins Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have signed catcher Cole Raile for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.

Currently in his freshman season at Virginia Military Institute, Raile is hitting .217 with a double, two triples, six home runs and 18 RBIs across 33 games, including 25 starts for the Keydets. Defenisvely, Raile has been strong, sporting a .983 fielding percentage and committing just one error on the season. 

Raile is a native of Radnor, Ohio, graduating from Buckeye Valley High School. His senior season with the Barons earned him first-team All-Conference and All-Region accolades after hitting .403 with four home runs and driving in 32.

Out of high school, Perfect Game ranked Cole the no. 12 catcher in the state of Ohio for the 2023 class and a top 500 catcher nationally.
