Paints Walk Off Rhythm, Win 7-6 to Earn Sweep

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, earned their first walk off win of the season, scoring three runs in the ninth and beating the Full Count Rhythm 7-6 Thursday night at VA Memorial Stadium.

Scoreless into the bottom of the third, the Paints got on the board first with Alex Bemis knocking home the games first run on a sacrifice fly. Later in the inning, Trevor Coltenback doubled home two runs, making it 3-0.

Full Count collected seven singles and took advantage of a couple Paints errors in the top of the fifth to score five runs with two outs, taking a 5-3 lead.

Chillicothe got one back in the bottom of the seventh on Bemis' second RBI of the night, a single to left field, scoring Cole Raile and cutting the deficit to 5-4.

The Rhythm tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth, scoring on a two-out RBI hit from Parker McDonald, restoring the two-run lead at 6-4.

In the bottom of the ninth, Raile eanred a leadoff walk after a lenghty at bat and Ty Hatfield worked the count to 3-2 before singling to put runners on the corners with no outs. After a pitching change, the Rhythm intentionally walked pinch hitter Felix Polanco to load the bases. Alex Bemis cut the Full Count lead to just one, plating Raile on a fielder's choice. After Alex Monile reached on an infield single to re-load the bases, Eric Colaco doubled to the wall in left center, scoring Bemis and Polanco and sending the Paints to a 7-6 walk off win.

Bemis finished the three-game series with 11 RBIs.

The Paints hit the road Friday to play Champion City in Springfield, Ohio. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Chillicothe is in Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday and Sunday for two games against the REX. First pitch Saturday is 6:30 p.m., while Sunday's game starts at 4:30 p.m. As always, fans can hear the games live on 100.9 Hank FM and streaming on the Paints' website and the Total Media Radio App.
