Paints Route REX 18-6 in Seven Innings

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, completed the two-game sweep of the REX with a 18-6 win Sunday that was shortened to seven innings due to Chillicothe owning a lead of at least 10 runs.

With the game tied 2-2 in the top of the third, Cole Raile led off with a triple, scoring on Clay Burdette's sacrifice fly, giving the Paints the lead back at 3-2, a lead they wouldn't give up a second time.

The Paints (7-3) would score the next 15 runs of the game over the third, fourth and fifth innings, making it 18-2.

The REX plated four runs in the sixth, making it 18-6, the eventual final score. 

All nine starters for Chillicothe collected at least one hit. Eric Colaco, Felix Polanco and Raile all tallied three hits, while Alex Monile, Alex Bemis, Samuel Fabian, and Ty Hatfield collected two-each.

The Paints went 5-1 for the week, hitting .387 as a team, scoring 77 runs on 82 hits, collecting 11 doubles, one triple and seven home runs. Alex Bemis hit .370, going 10-for-27 with one double, three home runs, 18 RBIs and eight runs scored over the six games. Raile hit .600 for the week withseven RBIs, Polanco went .563 with nine driven in, Hatfield hit .545 with seven RBIs and Trevor Coltenback hit .467 with six runs driven in.

Chillicothe is off Monday and Tuesday. The Paints return to VA Memorial Stadium for three games Wednesday-Friday.
