Fabian Drives In Seven, Paints Win Fifth Straight

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, scored four in the first inning en-route to a 14-9 win over the REX Thursday night at VA Memorial Stadium.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first, Samuel Fabian hit a deep fly ball to left field that ricocheted off the wall and the left fielder into foul ground, allowing Fabian to come around and score in an inside-the-park grand slam putting the Paints (14-5) up 4-0.
Charlie Scholvin homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the second inning, making it 5-0.
After the REX (6-13) scored a run in the top of the third, Ethan Brown knocked home two runs with an RBI single, extending the Chillicothe lead to 7-1. Brown later scored on a wild pitch, making it 8-1.
Nomar Garcia scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth and Gabe Wright hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth, pulling the REX to with three at 8-5.
Alex Bemis homered for the Paints in the bottom of the fifth, making it 9-4 Chillicothe.
After the REX got a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, Bemis brought home another run with a groundout in the bottom of the sixth. Tim Orr drove home a run with a single and Fabian hit a two-run home run, making it 13-6.
The REX got another run in the top of the seventh, but Chillicothe again answered. Fabian drove home his seventh run of the night on single in the bottom of the seventh and it was 14-7.
The REX scored two more in the ninth on a Brandt Munger pinch-hit home run, but the Paints secured their fifth-straight win.
