Paints Beat Bombers 11-3 To Open Four-Game Trip

HUNTINGBURG, Ind. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, opened a four-game road trip Monday with an 11-4 win over the Dubois County Bombers.

Chillicothe's (17-6) Samuel Fabian homered to lead off the top of the second, while Cameron Bowen and Clay Burdette would follow with a single and a double, respectively. Trevor Coltenback made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly to left field and, two batters later, Alex Monile would leg out a two-out, inifled single to plate another making it 3-0.

With two outs in the top of the third, Bowen singled, advancing to second on a Burdette single and to third when Coltenback was hit by a pitch. He scored on Ty Hatfield's RBI walk, extending the lead to 4-0.

In the top of the fifth, Coltenback walked, later scoring on a two-run home run by Monile, making it 6-0.

Dubois County (10-15) got its only three runs of the game and four of its five hits in the bottom of the fifth, cutting it to a 6-3 ballgame.

The Paints got run back in the top of the seventh. Sam Fabian walked with two outs, stole second and took off for third and scored on an infield single from Bowen, making it 7-3.

Chillicothe added four more on five hits, including Coltenback's second and third RBIs of the night from a two-run single, capping the scoring at 11-3.

Colin Bryant (2-0) started and got the win for the Paints after throwing six innings and allowed three runs on five hits, striking out four and walking one.

The Paints head to Marion, Ill., to play the Thrillville Thrillbillies Tuesday and Wednesday at Mtn Dew Park.
